Mental Health Support Group Man On! Inverclyde Secures Greenock Premises

A new suicide prevention group are celebrating after agreeing on a lease to expand into premises at Dellingburn Industrial Estate in Greenock.

Man On! Inverclyde, which was launched by local man Chris Paul earlier this year, had been searching for a base for its members to be able to meet and spend time together as well as run the Community Interest Company (C.I.C).

The group is a peer support service for the men of Inverclyde and has been created to try and tackle the alarming growing levels of male suicide.

The group has now signed a lease for the 750 sq ft offices at Dellingburn Industrial Estate, following support by Gourock-based commercial property firm, Bowman Rebecchi.

The premises, which is owned by Inverclyde businessmen Sandy and James Easdale’s Dalglen Property Investments, is now supporting the critical work of the group as it continues to provide vital lifeline services to vulnerable men across Inverclyde.

Speaking of the new premises, Chris Paul said:

“We are delighted to secure these new premises following an exhaustive search locally to secure somewhere for the C.I.C to operate.

“As a result of some successful funding applications and fundraising from our brilliant volunteers, we feel that this has put us in a position to be able to secure this new space.

“Instead of needing to meet people in parks, for example, we are now able to bring them into a safe, secure and private environment to help them at their time of need.

“We prioritise the views of our members before anything and the feedback we had from them was that having our own place to meet confidentially was a priority, so we are delighted to secure this opportunity.”

“We’d like to thank Andrew and Marco at Bowman Rebecchi for helping us to secure the premises quickly and efficiently.”

Andrew Bowman, Director of Bowman Rebecchi, said:

“Bowman Rebecchi was delighted to be able to support the Man On! Inverclyde programme with their search and we wish Chris and his team every success at the new premises.

“The work of the group is growing more vital, particularly given the Covid-19 pandemic, and we fully support their goals and ambitions.

“We’ve experienced a significant increase in property interest over the past two months, and this is another successful outcome as we move through the phases of emerging from lockdown.”
