New Geek Retreat Shop Opens In Greenock

Gaming enthusiasts turned out in their droves to support a new Greenock business on Saturday.

The team at Geek Retreat opened the doors of the community hub and cafe on Kilblain Street.

William and James Ford have turned the former bookmakers into Geek Retreat - an events space where people can share a love of all things gaming with a team of four staff.

Gourock property firm, Bowman Rebecchi supported Geek Retreat with the letting of the property.

People from all over Inverclyde popped in to see the new venture and to chat with the staff.

They plan to run community events which will attract people of all ages.

William said the inaugural event was a great success.

He added: "We were overjoyed by the reception we got on our opening day.

"The turnout was immense and people were so kind and supportive.

"Our staff were fantastic too and showed us that we've hired the best people for the job.

"We loved seeing everyone's passion and we're determined to give them the space they deserve."
