New Tenant For Mixed-Use Regeneration Project

A new tenant has been secured for the former Melrose Bar in Greenock, leaving just one final space available at the fully renovated site.

The 650 sq ft ground floor space has been created as a stand-alone unit, with its own dedicated entrance and welfare facilities.

In October 2020, Inverclyde Council Planners gave the go-ahead for the front section of the ground floor to be turned into a coffee shop and hot food takeaway.

With the second floor already let to Inverclyde Cho's Tae Kwon-Do and half of the first floor also let, the last remaining space is 800 sq ft on the first floor.

The new tenant is expected to enter later this month.

Andrew Bowman, Director of Bowman Rebecchi, said:

"This has been a fantastic renovation project, which has seen a once tired and long-term vacant property completely renovated.

“The landlord, M&R Properties are to be congratulated on undertaking this colossal task at considerable cost with the results highly impressive.

"This project secures the long-term future of the building and economic activity in the Barrs Cottage area."
