Bowman Rebecchi Celebrates Further Success at Top Commercial Property Awards

The CoStar awards have recognised a prominent retail lease negotiated by Bowman Rebecchi as the largest second-quarter retail deal in Scotland in 2020.

The new venture called Salon & Groom signed up for 3,500 sq ft at the B-listed former bank headquarters at Cathcart Square, which until recently had traded as Cathcart & Co.

The new operation by owners Heather Atkinson and Leigh Atkinson opened on 15 July 2020 following lockdown restrictions being lifted.

Salon & Groom aims to deliver a mixture of hairdressing, barbering and salon services, open to all ages and gender, with a range of services including various beauty treatments across the two floors of the premises.

The award is the second for the Gourock-based Commercial Property specialists Bowman Rebecchi, following its first-quarter awards success after Ferguson Marine let its new Greenock site at Cartsdyke Avenue as recognised by property information and marketing provider, CoStar.

The historic Cathcart Square premises is owned by Dalglen Property Investments, Inverclyde businessmen, Sandy and James Easdale’s investment arm.

Bowman Rebecchi Directors, Andrew Bowman and Marco Rebecchi said:

"This is fantastic further recognition for Bowman Rebecchi, with a second award win in our first six months of trading.

“We’d like to thank CoStar for its support, and this is an excellent example of the opportunities and sites available in Inverclyde for businesses.

“Given the challenges Covid-19 has presented all businesses, we were delighted to complete this deal during the middle of the pandemic and the difficulties that lockdown presented.

"To walk away with a second award in our first year of trading provides our growing business further impetus to support the commercial property market across the west coast of Scotland."

Dalglen Investment Directors, Sandy and James Easdale said:

"This is great recognition for the local economy and further repays the faith shown in acquiring the site and the additional investment since committed.

“It is a big positive that the site can now operate while adapting to the Scottish Government’s guidance for salons and we wish Heather and Leigh every success.

“We’d like to thank Bowman Rebecchi for their support in securing another new tenant for our portfolio.”
