Inverclyde Inspirational Awards 2024 Set To Be Launched

Charity champion Leah Canning from Greenock is already looking ahead to her Inverclyde Inspirational Awards 2024 - fresh from delivering another heart-warming ceremony honouring unsung heroes.

The former beauty queen contest winner and good causes campaigner set up her own awards platform to recognise the achievements of people across the district.

Former Inverclyde Academy pupil Leah, who juggles university studies with work and is also a mentor to students, has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the years.

Following on from the success of last year's awards night Leah is set to continue recognising deserving individuals, groups, organisations and charities making a big difference in their own community.

Leah said: "It was such a fantastic night at our latest awards and everyone had a great time. I am looking ahead to planning the awards for 2024, in between working with the NHS and studying at uni.

"I would like to thank everyone involved, including our sponsor Marco Medinelli. We couldn't have done it without him.

"Thanks also go to all our finalists and our winners."

Leah added: "We would also like to recognise all the Inverclyde businesses and community organisations for their donations to our raffle and charity auction.

"We are delighted to announce that we raised £500 for Safe Harbour Inverclyde, who are blown away with the amount raised."

The full list of winners was as follows:

- Inspirational Photographer - Gary Bradley
- Inspirational Inverclyde Young Citizen - Jessica Cornish, Noah Waddell, Skye McCabe and Alyssa McLellan
- Inspirational Inverclyde Citizen - Billy Woodman
