Two lettings’ firms have joined forces to support the Greenock Wanderers youth programme to help enhance their early rugby experiences.
Bowman Rebecchi Letting and Glasgow-based Newton Letting have provided sponsorship for the Fort Matilda club to support its Mini’s section to purchase new strips
As a result, the Minis will adorn the Bowman Rebecchi Letting logo on their sleeves, alongside fellow local sponsors, McLaren Packaging and Welsh Walker. Recruitment firm MM Search continues to be the club’s principal sponsor.
Wanderers' Micros and Minis sections (P1-P7) both train on Sunday mornings with Minis (P4-P7) also training on Wednesday evenings.
The club currently has 140 players registered from P1-7 covering primary schools across Inverclyde and Argyll and Bute, which has doubled since the first Covid-19 lockdown was lifted as youth rugby continues to grow in popularity locally.
Wanderers’ mini convenor, Kevin Murray says the corporate sponsorship has been vital to enhance the youth development programme at the club.
Kevin said: "We are so grateful to Bowman Rebecchi Letting, Newton Letting and to all of our sponsors across all levels of the club who enable us to deliver the opportunities we do for young people.
“Clubs like the Wanderers are reliant on support from local businesses to support our youth programmes and also to protect our future.
"All of our sponsors have demonstrated a level of connection and affinity that has inspired people to remain loyal to the GWRFC brand, and their commitment is priceless."
Bowman Rebecchi Letting is a joint venture with Glasgow agency, Newton Letting with the group currently managing over 1,200 residential and commercial properties across the west and central Scotland.
Bowman Rebecchi Letting and Newton Letting Director, Riccardo Giovanacci, said: "As a former player who came through the ranks, I know only too well how critical it is to support the youth programme at Greenock Wanderers.
“When the Club reached out, we were delighted to support Kevin and the Mini’s programme alongside the other sponsors.
“Bowman Rebecchi is proud to support a wide range of organisations across Inverclyde to provide important opportunities for young people to thrive.
"Sport in Inverclyde plays a huge part in so many local people's lives and we look forward to seeing the next generation flourish at Fort Matilda with the Wanderers."
