‘No Job Losses’ Pledge From Webhelp

Customer service company Webhelp say no jobs are under threat following its decision to quit its Greenock base.

The global firm has had a contact centre beside the A8 at Cartsburn for more than 20 years but is vacating the Holt Court premises at the end of February.

The company released a statement saying: “We can confirm that as part of optimising our estate plans, we entered into discussion with our Greenock landlord about exercising our right to a lease break.

“As a result, and following consultation, we have enabled our people to remain working from home where the majority have been based since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 with no loss to jobs.

“Our priority as always is to protect our people, and we remain dedicated to our people and the community in Greenock.”

The building extends to 10,762 sq ft across three floors and is owned by Arranglen, the property arm of local businessmen Sandy and James Easdale.

The property is being marketed by Bowman Rebecchi and can be viewed here.
